Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone or visit us
For tests arranged by your hospital consultant
Please contact the Clinic or Hospital directly for the result, as we cannot action tests which have been requested by Clinicians from outside the practice. If the consultant’s secretary informs you they will send the results to your GP, explain that you want the results from the specialist who arranged the test.
Additionally, you can view your hospital results in the hospital MyCare patient record. For access to this please contact the hospital.
Confidentiality
We will only release test results to the patient themselves unless they have given permission for the release of this information, or they are not capable of understanding the results.
There are occasions when we have a legal duty to report test results to Public Health England. These “notifiable diseases” may result in you receiving a questionnaire sent by Environmental Health to help them investigate the cause. The list does not include sexually transmitted diseases.
Information about laboratory tests is available at Labtests online
